Dreaming Big

I'm busy working on the Mama Mzungu future vision. While the women are working hard in Uganda to keep up with increased local demand and preparing our next UK shipment, I'm working on the bigger picture. Land, new factory build, eco tourism cottages, industrial soapmaking equipment, diversified revenue generating activities (such as mushroom growing), etc. We are in the process of raising money to buy a plot of land that is adjacent to our current site. On this land, the plan is to build a purpose-built soap making factory, grow a variety of crops for added food security for our team members and onsite women's shelter as well as some soap ingredients, erect 2-3 cottages in order to tap into the eco-tourism trade and also host international volunteers and build a mushroom growing shed, both viable sources of extra revenue for the business. It is also time to think about industrial soap making equipment. We gave scaled up a few times now as the business grows but soon it will be time to make the big leap to higher volume production. I have a good contact from years ago of having my own fair trade bath & body care business in the UK so tentative plans are in the works for a hydraulic soap cutter, hydraulic lift, HDPE moulds and several rows of curing racks. Stayed tuned to watch our journey!
